Pawpaw flowers were essential to the plot of the 2017 film, Lost Child, but unfortunately couldn't be procured in August when the filming was due to begin. My experience with flower making had been limited to paper flowers at this point, but the moment I saw an image of what a pawpaw looked like, I knew it would be near impossible to create the required 40  lifelike reproductions out of paper. The still image you see above displays my solution: four types of silk flowers deconstructed and their components cut, shaped, assembled, and painted into the final pawpaw form.
